The 17th International Conference on Near-Field Optics, Nanophotonics and Related Techniques (NFO-17) was held  in Melbourne in early December : https://aipcongress2024.com/nfo-17/

The event was part of the Australian Institute of Physics congress 2024. The UTT's NANO-PHOT graduate school (https://nano-phot.utt.fr/) sponsored the conference!
As always since 1992, the NFO conference was very inspiring in terms of current topics in nanophotonics and near-field optics. These include photonic mematerials, quantum nano-optics, machine learning, near-field optical microscopy and spectroscopy, hybrid nanoplasmonics, infrared nano-optics, nanophotochemistry and molecular sensing.
Many thanks to the organizers Kenneth Crozier, Stefan Maier and al!

Renaud Bachelot did teach a course for the NFO summer school, entitled "Weak and Strong Coupling in Hybrid Plasmonic Nanosystems', based on his current research activities at L2n laboratory, for her first presentation at an international conference, entitled "From symmetry to chirality: near-field imaging of achiral nanotriangles using linear polarization".
6 years after NFO1-15 (UTT, Troyes, France), NFO will be back in Europe: the NFO-18 conference will take place in 2 years in the beautiful town of BRNO, in the Czech Republic.

The NANO-PHOT graduate school will be supporting the event.
