On July 10-14th, the first International Workshop on Optoelectronics 2024 (OPTO 2024) was held in the campus of University of Technology of Troyes (UTT) at Amphitheatre M500. Laboratory of light, nanomaterials and nanotechnologies (L2n), a joint UTT/CNRS laboratory in France and IEEE Photonics Society (IPS) have co-organized this event to promote interactions in the field of nanophotonics and optoelectronics among researchers from France, USA, China and other countries. This Workshop will pave a way for UTT to organize other IEEE flagship conferences in the near future.
The IEEE Photonics Society (IPS) as an important sub-division of IEEE, is one of the leading associations on the topic of Photonics and is the professional home for a global network of scientists, engineers and professionals who advance laser, optoelectronics, and photonics technology. Through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, educational activities, and humanitarian initiatives, the IEEE Photonics Society provides its members in more than 160 countries the opportunity to grow professionally and stay on the forefront of transformational breakthroughs in photonics. It is a global community of leading innovators who explore how technology drives industry and impacts modern society and business - both today and tomorrow.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. It publishes approximately a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computing, and electronics. This includes more than 200 transactions, journals, and magazines published annually including IEEE Photonics Technology Letters (PTL), Journal of Lightwave Technology (JLT) and IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics. In cooperation with John Wiley and Sons, Inc., IEEE also produces technical books, monographs, guides, and textbooks.
This OPTO 2024 workshop featured both oral and poster presentations from France, USA, and China. Prof. Perry Shum, IEEE Photonics Society President from SUSTech and Dr. Shuwen Zeng, CNRS Researcher from L2n are the co-organizing chairs for this conference. Dr. Anne-Laure Baudrion (Assoc. Prof., L2n) has given an opening speech on July 12th to introduce EUR NanoPhot program and on her research topic - Nonlinear optical sensing in arrays of plasmonic nanoparticle. Other Researchers and Profs from LCBPT-CNRS, CUHK, SUSTech, Drexel U and Shenzhen U have also been delivered their research talks on different topics of Nanophotonics as invited speakers. More than 20 Nano-Phot master and PhD students have participated for the oral and poster sessions.
